GX131E08 Hardware and Software Compatible ADS131E08 Electricity Metering System Application Solution

Time:2025-05-07 Views:129
Electricity metering system is a device used to record and manage electricity consumption. It is equipped with functions such as bi-directional metering, power measurement and time-of-day tariff metering, and is widely used in residential and industrial and commercial applications. Electricity metering management system helps managers to identify high energy consumption points by segmenting and counting users‘ electricity consumption, so as to effectively save electricity.

Metering automation system plays a key role in the power system, which can collect real-time data and monitor the power distribution operation to improve the power supply quality and enterprise benefits. The GX131E08 family of multi-channel, synchronous sampling, 24-bit and 16-bit analog-to-digital converters with built-in programmable gain amplifiers, internal references, and on-board oscillators are ideally suited for power metering systems.
The GX131E08 analog-to-digital converters are widely used in industrial power monitoring and protection as well as test and measurement applications due to the ADC‘s wide dynamic range, scalable data rates, and internal fault detection and monitoring meter. The chip‘s high level of integration and outstanding performance allow for the creation of scalable industrial power systems with significant reductions in size, power consumption, and overall cost.

The GX131E08 has a flexible input multiplexer on each channel that is independently connected to internally generated signals for test, temperature, and fault detection. Fault detection can be performed within the device, which operates at data rates up to 64kSPS using an integrated comparator with trigger levels controlled by a digital-to-analog converter.

The GX131E08 features the following:
- Four/six/eight differential analog-to-digital converter inputs
- Dynamic Range: 120dB at 1kSPS; Crosstalk: -125dB; Total Harmonic Distortion: -108dB at 50Hz and 60Hz
- Unipolar power supply range: 3V to 5V for analog supply, 1.8V to 3.6V for digital supply
- Low power consumption: 2.3mW per channel
- Data rates: 0.25,0.5,1,2,4,8,16,32 and 64kSPS
- Programmable Gain: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 24
- Fault detection and device test functions
- SPITM data interface and four general-purpose inputs and outputs
- Excellent ESD capability
