Single-Ended Input 16-Channel 12-Bit Analog-to-Digital Converter GX5200 Replaces SGM5200 for Temperature Monitoring Applications

The industrial field has high requirements for temperature monitoring and control, especially in high-precision manufacturing, chemical and laboratory environments, where temperature fluctuations may lead to equipment damage, lower production quality, and even safety accidents. Therefore, an efficient and accurate temperature monitoring and control system is a very important module in modern industrial automation. This paper focuses on an analog-to-digital converter GX5200 for temperature monitoring system.

The 16-channel 12-bit GX5200 excellent performance can replace the SGM5200 for temperature control system, in the price has a certain advantage of the premise, GX5200 performance is also excellent. The GX5200 chip supports automatic mode or manual mode input selection. Built-in input drive buffer, the input signal through the MUX switch through the buffer directly drive the ADC, can also be bypassed, with an external input buffer. Built-in reference voltage and reference drive buffer, the built-in reference voltage is passed through the reference buffer to drive the ADC directly, or it can be bypassed to use an external reference voltage.
Powered by a single 2.7V to 3.63V power supply, the GX5200 handles unipolar input signals over the 0 to 2.5V input range, while each pair of channels supports sampling at up to 2MSPS throughput rate and 72dB SNR. It also supports configuration of two reference inputs: 0 to 2.5V or 0 to 2.0V, and power-down mode.
