In flowmeter applications, ADS1248 can be used to measure the output signals of flow sensors, such as differential pressure sensors, turbine flowmeters, electromagnetic flowmeters and so on. It converts the sensor‘s analog signal into a digital signal for subsequent processing and analysis.
By cooperating with appropriate sensors and signal conditioning circuits, ADS1248 can realize high-precision flow measurement and meet the requirements for flow measurement in industrial automation. This article focuses on the GX1248 100% replacement ADS1248 for flow meters, providing a complete front-end solution for small signal measurement applications.

GX1248 is introduced as follows:
- High accuracy: 24-bit resolution, capable of providing highly accurate measurement results.
- Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA): The PGA gain is selectable from 1 to 128, which helps to adapt to input signals of different amplitudes.
- Fast Sample Rate: Supports sample rates up to 2kSPS for dynamic measurements.
- Multi-Channel Input: Supports 8 differential input channels, which can measure multiple sensor signals at the same time.
- Low noise: can effectively reduce noise interference and improve measurement accuracy.
- Temperature Sensor: Internal integrated temperature sensor can be used for temperature compensation.
- SPI Interface: Communicate with microcontroller or other digital devices through SPI interface, which is convenient for data transmission and control.
The GX1248 chip provides a built-in low-drift voltage reference and two matched programmable excitation current sources. The input multiplexer supports four differential inputs. In addition, the multiplexer integrates sensor loss detection, thermocouple voltage biasing, system monitoring, and general-purpose digital I/Os.
