Highly accurate thermistor temperature measurements require precision signal conditioning, analog-to-digital conversion, linearization, and patching, and while the signal chain may seem straightforward, there are several complexities involved that can also affect the board size, cost, and performance of the overall system.
GXSC has several integrated solutions in its ADC portfolio, such as the GX7793 ADC, which can bring multiple benefits to temperature system design, with most of the building blocks required for the application already built in.

When designing a thermistor measurement system, the GX7793 (AD7793), a Sigma-Delta ADC, offers several advantages. First, the GX7793 is capable of oversampling analog inputs to minimize external filtering, requiring only simple RC filters. In addition, they support flexible selection of filter type and output data rate. In mains-powered designs, the built-in digital filtering can be used to suppress interference from the AC supply.
With excellent DNL and INL performance at up to 24-bit resolution, the GX7793 (AD7793) is ideally suited for temperature measurement, gravimetry, chemical analysis, bio-signals, current monitoring, etc., and is suitable for all types of sensor applications.
