Energy storage BMS solution based on GX1120 instead of ADS1120

Time:2025-05-26 Views:46
A complete electrochemical energy storage system mainly consists of a battery pack, a battery management system, an energy management system, an energy storage converter, and other electrical equipment. In the energy storage system, the battery pack feeds status information to the battery management system BMS, which shares it with the energy management system EMS and the energy storage converter PCS; the EMS sends control information to the PCS and the BMS based on optimization and scheduling decisions, and controls the charging and discharging of individual cells/batteries.

GXSC‘s BMS high voltage monitoring solution based on GX1120 can support the functions of total battery pack voltage, total current collection, insulation detection, etc., which meets the current high performance requirements of electric vehicle/energy storage system for high voltage monitoring: current monitoring accuracy within 0.5%, updated once in 1~10ms; bus voltage monitoring function: accuracy requirement ±0.5%; support relay sticking diagnosis function; support insulation detection function; support shunt temperature detection function; support shunt temperature detection function; support shunt temperature detection function; support shunt temperature detection function; support shunt temperature detection function; support shunt temperature detection function; and support high voltage monitoring function. insulation detection function; support shunt temperature detection function.
This GX1120 has many integrated features that reduce system cost and component count for applications that measure small sensor signals. The ADC has three differential or five single-ended inputs via a flexible input multiplexer, a low-noise, programmable gain amplifier, bias voltage for each channel, two programmable excitation current sources, a voltage reference, an oscillator, a low-side switch, and a precision temperature sensor. It can convert at data rates up to 3710kSPS. At <20SPS, digital filters provide 50Hz or 60Hz suppression of noise for industrial applications.

The internal PGA provides gains up to 128 V/V. This PGA makes the GX1120 ideally suited for applications that measure signals from small sensors such as Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs), thermocouples, thermistors, and resistance bridge sensors. And it is available in a lead-free QFN-16 or TSSOP-16 package for the -40°C to +125°C temperature range.

To summarize, ADC is a key component in both inverter and servo controller, and its performance and accuracy will affect the control effect and accuracy of the whole system. In summary, the GX1120 can be used in inverter and servo controller as a 100% replacement for ADS1120.
