DC servo motors require precise position feedback for accurate position control. the RDC GX2S1210 provides high resolution angular position information, typically up to 10-bit to 16-bit resolution, to meet the positional accuracy requirements of DC servo motors. For example, in a CNC machine tool where DC servo motors are used to control the position of the tool, the GX2S1210 monitors the position of the motor in real time and provides feedback to the control system so that the tool can move accurately to the specified position.
The GX2S1210 is a 10-bit to 16-bit resolution rotary digitizer with an integrated on-chip programmable sinusoidal oscillator that provides sinusoidal excitation for the rotary converter. The converter‘s sine and cosine inputs allow signals of 3.15Vp-p ± 27% to be input at frequencies in the range of 2kHz to 20kHz. A Type II servo loop is used to track the input signals and convert the information from the sine and cosine inputs into digital quantities corresponding to the input angles and speeds up to a maximum tracking rate of 3,125rps. GX2S1210 is ideal for DC and AC servo motor control.
