Electronic compasses are not only capable of positioning, but also have many additional functions such as measuring temperature and sending digital signals. For harsh application scenarios, electronic compasses need to have highly accurate guidance information and positioning, so the analog signal acquisition accuracy of the output of the three-axis magnetic field sensors and two-axis inclination sensors is very high, and requires the use of high-precision external ADCs to achieve analog-to-digital conversion. This paper recommends the high-precision ADC GX7699 (AD7699).

GX7699 has the following advantages in electronic compass applications:
1, GX7699 supports single-ended inputs, can also support up to 8 differential input pair combinations, can adapt to multiple range levels or multiple measurement input signals, suitable for a variety of application scenarios;
2, GX7699 using a simple SPI-compatible interface to realize the configuration, registers write HO conversion results read, the digital interface using a separate power supply (VIO), is set to logic level.
3, GX7699 each channel sampling rate can support 500KSPS, to meet the sampling frequency requirements, improve measurement accuracy.
4, GX7699 built-in low-temperature drift LDO and voltage reference VREF, support for low power consumption and sleep mode, suitable for battery-powered applications.
5, GX7699 compatible with ADI (ADI) AD7699 design, operating temperature range of -40 ℃ to +85 ℃, strong stability.
