EV battery management system BMS is mainly used for real-time monitoring, fault diagnosis, SOC estimation, mileage estimation, short-circuit protection, leakage monitoring, display alarm, charging and discharging mode selection of the power battery parameters of the electric vehicle, and through the way of CAN bus and the vehicle integrated controller or charger to carry out information interaction, to ensure the efficient, reliable and safe operation of the electric vehicle.
Among them, the battery monitoring in BMS is mainly used for real-time collection of battery charging and discharging status, and the collected data include total battery voltage, total battery current, temperature of the battery measurement point in each battery box, and battery voltage of single module. Therefore, high-precision ADC is the core ability to realize the analog data volume acquisition of the battery while reducing the sampling resistance value and improving the measurement accuracy.
GX7606 is a 16-bit 8-channel synchronous sampling ADC to replace the AD7606, the device also integrates a digital filter, 3.5ppm / ℃ low-drift 2.5V precision reference voltage source and 4.5V reference voltage buffer, each channel is built-in analog input clamping protection, analog filter, programmable gain amplifier. As power batteries are used in series, real-time, fast and accurate measurement of these parameters is the basis for the normal operation of the battery management system. GX7606 (replace AD7606) main performance parameters:
- 16-bit, 200kSPS (all channels)
- Operating temperature range -40°C to +85°C
- VDRIVE supply voltage 2.3V to 5V
- SNR 86dB (no oversampling) 95dB (64x oversampling)
- QFP-64 package 12mm x 12mm
- Compatible with ADI‘s AD7606
The GX7606 is powered by a single 5V supply, with throughput rates up to 200kSPS for all 8 channels, supports ±10V and ±5V true bipolar input ranges, 1MΩ analog input impedance, and input clamping protection for voltages up to ±30V, with an ESD rating of up to 8kV. For applications requiring lower throughput rates, the GX7606‘s built-in oversampling mode and flexible digital filters can be used to improve noise performance.
