Thermocouple sensors are the most commonly used contact temperature measurement devices in industry. This is because thermocouples are characterized by stable performance, large temperature measurement range, long distance signal transmission, etc. They are also simple in structure and easy to use. Thermocouples can convert thermal energy directly into electrical signals and output DC voltage signals, making it easy to display, record, and transmit. The GX1120 has 24-bit resolution and is capable of accurately measuring small voltage variations, which is critical for converting analog signals from temperature sensors to digital signals, allowing for high-precision temperature measurements.
This GX1120 features three differential or five single-ended inputs via a flexible input multiplexer (MUX), a low-noise, programmable gain amplifier, bias voltage for each channel, two programmable excitation current sources, a voltage reference, an oscillator, a low-side switch, and precision temperature sensors. The GX1120 can at a data rate of up to 3710kSPS The GX1120 can convert at data rates up to 3710kSPS. At <20SPS, digital filters provide 50Hz or 60Hz rejection of noise for industrial applications.

The internal PGA provides gains up to 128 V/V. The PGA makes the chip ideal for applications that measure signals from small sensors such as resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), thermocouples, thermistors, and resistance bridge sensors. And it is available in a lead-free QFN-16 or TSSOP-16 package for a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
The GX1120 features the following
- Low current consumption: as low as 75μA (typical) in duty cycle mode
- Wide supply range: 2.7V to 5.25V
- Programmable gain: 1V/V to 128V/V
- Programmable data rate: up to 3.7kSPS
- 50Hz or 60Hz rejection at ≤20SPS with single-cycle setup digital filter
- Three differential or five single-ended inputs
- Internal bias voltage generator
- Dual matched programmable current sources: 10μA to 1.5mA - Internal 2.048VR frequency: 8ppm/°C (typical) drift
