In industrial control LANs, there are usually a large number of devices that require communication, such as sensors, actuators, controllers, etc. The RS485 bus can meet the needs of multi device networking in industrial scenarios, connecting devices with different locations and functions into a complete network, enabling data exchange and collaborative work between devices.
Industrial sites often have a large area and far distances between equipment. The RS485 standard itself supports long-distance transmission, and the high-speed and low-power RS485 transceiver GX3490 has excellent electrical performance, which can achieve stable data transmission at kilometer level distances, ensuring reliable communication between devices located in different workshops and areas. The rated operating voltage of GX3490 is 3.3V. The analog bus pins can protect against ESD events up to ± 10kV HBM, and the RX common mode voltage operating range is -7V~12V.

High speed transmission: GX3490 supports a maximum data rate of 10Mbps, which can quickly transmit a large amount of data generated by industrial field equipment, such as real-time data collected by sensors, equipment operation status data, etc., to the monitoring system or control center in a timely manner, meeting the real-time requirements of industrial control and enabling the control center to make decisions and adjustments quickly.
Accurate transmission: This transceiver has limited swing rate characteristics, which can effectively reduce electromagnetic interference, reduce reflections caused by inappropriate terminal matching cables, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of data transmission. In industrial environments, there are various sources of electromagnetic interference, such as motors and frequency converters. The GX3490‘s characteristic enables it to operate stably in complex electromagnetic environments, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
The GX3490 receiver includes a complete fail safe circuit to ensure a logically high receiver output when the receiver input is open, short, or not driven. The input impedance of GX3490 receiver should be at least 120k (1/10 unit load), allowing for more than 320 rooms on the bus. This driver maintains high impedance during shutdown or power failure through short circuit detection and thermal shutdown protection.
