Ideal for ADC Drivers: Low Noise Fully Differential Op Amp GX8138, Compatible to AD8138

Time:2024-09-30 Views:471
The GX8138 is a significant advancement in differential signal processing over general purpose operational amplifiers. the GX8138 can be used as either a single-ended to differential amplifier or a differential to differential amplifier, is as easy to use as a general purpose operational amplifier, and greatly simplifies the amplification and driving of differential signals.

The GX8138‘s good distortion performance makes it ideal for use as an ADC driver in communication systems, driving 10-bit to 16-bit converters at higher frequencies. The high bandwidth and IP3 characteristics make it suitable for use as a gain module in IF and baseband signal chains. Excellent detuning and dynamic performance make the device well suited for a variety of signal processing and data acquisition applications. The GX8138 is available in SOIC and MSOP packages and operates over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range. For more information, please feel free to contact us at service_jesseli@gxschip.com.
The GX8138 fully differential op amps feature low noise, high bandwidth, high slew rate, and rail-to-rail outputs for applications such as ADC drivers, single-ended/differential conversions, IF and baseband gain modules, differential buffers, and line drivers, etc. The GX8138 fully differential op amps are also characterized by an adjustable output common-mode, and fully differential complementary outputs. Compared to general-purpose op amps, the fully differential op amp structure has the following three main advantages:

1. common mode interference suppression
2. Suppresses even harmonics and provides better linearity.
3. Increased dynamic range
In addition, the GX8138 features high voltage and high bandwidth: supply voltages up to ±5V from dual supplies and 10V from a single supply, output voltage swing close to the supply rail of 9.7VPP, and a -3dB bandwidth of 315MHz, making it possible to drive other 10-bit to 16-bit converters at higher frequencies in addition to the SC2245.

The high bandwidth of the GX8138 allows it to maintain high flatness over a wide frequency range, making it also suitable for use as a gain module in IF and baseband signal chains; and the common-mode feedback loop forces the signal component of the output common-mode voltage to zero, resulting in a near-perfect differential output: perfectly equal in amplitude and 180° out of phase, making the GX8138 ideal for use as an ADC driver.
