RDC chip GX2S1210 (AD2S1210 compatible) for vehicle motor angle control

Time:2024-09-23 Views:442
Rotation Digitizers (RDCs) can be used to accurately measure angular position and can be deployed in industrial motor control, servos, robotics, powertrain units in hybrid all-electric vehicles, and many other applications that require the provision of precise shaft rotation, providing a highly accurate and stable control system for position and velocity measurements in motor control applications for the best overall performance.

Generally speaking, we need to consider the phase lock range, angular accuracy, speed accuracy, tracking rate, build-up time and resolution of the rotary digitizer. ADI‘s RDC is often used in motor control systems, and this article recommends an automotive-grade domestic RDC chip, GX2S1210, to replace the AD2S1210 for new energy vehicles. GX2S1210 can convert the analog signal of rotary output into digital signal and provide high-precision angle and speed information, which solves the problems of difficult to determine the rotor position of the traditional brushless motor, low sampling rate of rotary speed, etc., and can simultaneously meet the needs of modern servo motors, automotive motion detection, electric power steering, etc., for high conversion speed and high conversion accuracy.

The GX2S1210 is a high-resolution RDC chip with a resolution of up to 10 to 16 bits. By integrating an on-chip programmable sine wave oscillator, it can provide sine wave excitation for the resolver. The GX2S1210 has a maximum tracking rate of 3125 rps (10-bit resolution), 2.5 arcminute accuracy, parallel and serial 10-bit to 16-bit data ports, and is rated over the temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The resolution and excitation frequency can be set, and the outputs can be selected from either a parallel port or an SPI interface for flexible design in a wide range of applications and systems.
