In industrial control systems, many on-site physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, flow, etc. exist as analog signals. The analog-to-digital converter accurately converts analog quantities to digital quantities, enabling PLCs and DCSs to make control decisions based on accurate measurements, improving control accuracy and stability.
Sampling frequency and quantization accuracy are two important parameters of analog-to-digital converters. Sampling frequency determines the sampling speed of the analog signal of the analog-to-digital converter, and a higher sampling frequency can more accurately capture rapidly changing signals. Quantization accuracy determines the resolution of the digital value, and a higher quantization accuracy provides a finer digital representation. This article recommends the use of an analog-to-digital converter, the GX7124, which is a low-power, low-noise, highly integrated, complete analog front-end that is pin-compatible with ADI‘s AD7124.

The analog-to-digital converter GX7124 has an effective resolution of 23.5bits, an output rate of up to 16kSPS, a linearity of <7ppm, and supports 50/60Hz simultaneous suppression. The chip contains a 16-channel analog switch, a low-noise PGA, a low-temperature-drift reference source, a high-matching IDAC, and a high-precision 24-bit Ʃ-Δ-type ADC.
